Survey Reveals Passengers Demand Faster In-Flight WiFi

Being constantly connected to the internet has become more of a need. Even when people are traveling in the sky.

A recent survey  conducted by Honeywell Aerospace, a major supplier of in-flight connectivity hardware,  between June 6 and June 19, 2014, among 1,045 Americans age 18 and over who have used in-flight Wi-Fi  are clamoring for even faster connections and are willing to even pay more for it or encounter inconveniences. Here are some of the most surprising behaviors of the connected passengers.

Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC1600 (EA6400)

Since Belkin acquired Linksys few months ago, they have released few routers and among the first to be released is the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC1600 (EA6400).  The said device is 802.11ac-enabled is supposed to be a second tier to the top-notch Linksys EA6500 that came out last year.  Although Linksys’s ownership may have changed, the EA6400 does not differ much from last year’s Cisco Linksys Smart EA6500. Compared with other 802.11ac routers on the market however the Smart EA6500 is unfortunately quite far behind in terms of Wi-Fi data rates and range.
