The popular game called “Defense of the Ancients” or simply called DOTA is now featured worldwide with several tournaments  including Blizzards Entertainment, BlizzCon and the Asian World Cyber Games. But do you know that DOTA is just a MAP, or rather we say just an expansion of a famous video game called Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. Which is the “The Frozen Throne” is the expansion of Warcraft III:Reign of Chaos.

DOTA is a multiplayer online battle arena composed of maximum of 10 players. Five (5) players for the DIRE and five (5) players for the RADIANT. Before, in the first release of DOTA or we commonly called as DOTA 1, the DIRE is called as SCOURGE and the RADIANT is called as SENTINEL.

The objective of the game is to destroy the Ancient of each opposing team located at the middle of the base and surrounded by highly defenses structures. Each player can choose their own Hero before the game starts. Hero needs to earn gold to purchase items to make it stronger. The more hero it killed the more gold he earns and gains more experience than the hero that always die.  Dead hero will respawn in few seconds depending on what level it is. One is also deducted with few gold if it dies and experience freeze until he return to battle.  Maximum level for every hero is Level 25.

There are various versions of the released expansions in mid-2000’s and the most popular is the DOTA All Star and it was maintained by ICE FROG designer until the DOTA 2 was released last 2013.

How to Download DOTA 2.

It is pretty easy now to get a DOTA 2 unlike before in DOTA 1 you need to download the main Reign of Chaos video games installed in your computer/laptop before you can install a Frozen Throne for your DOTA and another headache is the patches that you need to replace and paste on the correct folder in order for your DOTA to run.
